Workshops
The Easter Triduum is the heart of the Church's year. This practical workshop will deepen your understanding of its liturgies while equipping you with the confidence to prepare and celebrate them well. Through clear teaching and practical examples, Dr Clare Schwantes and Michael Mangan address the questions most frequently asked by parishes each year.
Preparing the Liturgies of the Easter Triduum
10 October 2026
It's never too early to begin preparations for the Church's most sacred days.
This workshop responds to the many liturgical and logistical questions Liturgy Brisbane receives every year about preparing and celebrating the Triduum.
- Do we have to include the Washing of Feet on Holy Thursday?
- How should the procession of the Blessed Sacrament take place?
- Is the Veneration of the Cross necessary on Good Friday?
- Is Holy Communion always distributed on Good Friday?
- How can we ensure the Easter Vigil flows prayerfully and smoothly?
- How many Old Testament readings are required at the Easter Vigil?
These, and many other questions will be answered as presenters Dr Clare Schwantes and Michael Mangan unpack the structure and theology of the Triduum liturgies and discuss the many practical considerations and challenges that parishes face each year.
Whether you are planning your parish celebrations for the first time or simply looking to refresh your understanding, this workshop will provide practical guidance and renewed confidence.
